Deva was founded in 1958 with the aim of collecting small savings to form a capital of a large company and to direct these savings towards industrialization of Turkey. The target of Deva project was to be a leader and a model in fast accumulation of capital, to direct this potential to industrial development of Turkey with investments requiring high capital, finally to provide a higher standard of living by passing over the profits to the public. Founded with this main principle, Deva initially invested in the pharmaceutical industry.
Various activities on the pharmaceutical industry and on other fields were a result of new dimensions gained by the company. This led to the decision of the General Assembly on
March 14 th 1970 to change the status of the company into a Holding and its name to
Deva Holding A.S.
